Genomics and bioinformatics

Massively parallel sequencing and other high-throughput methodologies enable detailed mapping of the genomic and transcriptomic changes that underlie the development of cancer and other diseases. Rapid accumulation of genetic information in the public domain makes it increasingly feasible to test biological hypotheses using available data and computational methods.

We are tackling challenges in human genomics with emphasis on the origins and consequences of somatic mutations in tumors, in particular in non-coding genomic regions. Although we are primarily a computational group, we also have a wet laboratory and we regularly collaborate with experimental groups at the Sahlgrenska Academy and elsewhere.
